Now residing in San Diego, she started focusing on music after featuring on Just You by fellow New Waves artist & president, IamRayJohn. Deriving her drive from her inner passion & the inspiration that surrounds the New Waves team, she released her debut single & music video, Leave the House in August 2020. She hopes to continue telling her stories & in her words, “I want to be able to help as many people as I am able to,” with them.  A filmmaker, musician, and overall storyteller with experience in screenwriting, directing and cinematography, TonyaJae is a jill of all trades who gathers musical inspiration from her father, Anthony Ascura, and influential artists Kehlani, Hayley Kiyoko, Ariana Grande, Lauv, Miguel, and Charlie Puth.
