Tonya Jaemarie Terlaje Ascura, fondly known as “TonyaJae” or “TJ”, is a Pacific Islander, multi-hyphenated singer/songwriter and filmmaker from the beautiful island of Guam. Before winning “Best Pop Song” for her debut single, Leave the House at the 2021 San Diego Music Awards, she has been passionate about music & film since the age of 4. In 2022, she released Whiplash - a song she produced with her producer, Carlo V. featuring another CHamoru artist, Nick Wolford. The song garnered the attention of listeners everywhere, along with the official video, leading her to win her first award in film at the 2024 Mírala Film Festival in Santa Monica.
